Human Story Swap

Every one of us has a story to tell.

Hudson Valley Books for Humanity is all about bringing people together and celebrating the rich diversity of our community. With that in mind, we are featuring a new series of intentional gatherings called the “Human Story Swap.”

When you come to a Human Story Swap, you’ll have the opportunity to meet someone you might not otherwise get to know in your typical day. Perhaps it’s someone of a different age group, or a different cultural perspective. We provide some light guidelines, give you a conversation prompt, and arrange the group in pairs. We practice active listening while we engage in a structured 20-minute conversation, after which we all come back together and share something with the group about our conversation partner.

While we normally meet on the third Wednesday of each month, our March gathering will be held on the 4th Wednesday. Light refreshments will be available.

Co-facilitated by Betsy Kates, James Finger, and Amy Hall, these events are open to all. Come on your own or bring a friend! There’s no charge to participate. Our only hope is that you come with an open mind and leave with a full heart.

This event is free, but we strongly recommend RSVPing here ahead of time. Thank you!
