Michael Bertone Art Reception

Lift a glass to Ossining artist Michael Bertone!

Mike loves an excuse to bring people together. His collage exhibit (to be on display from October 19 to November 1 here in the store) is another wonderful excuse.

Please come with friends and family—or make new friends here in the store. Mike will be here, happy to chat about the show or anything related to vinyl records, the NYC subway or Brooklyn. Refreshments will be served. Original framed artworks, bags and t-shirts will be for sale—all priced affordably.

Let us know you’re coming so we can plan accordingly. See you on the 26th.

About the Artist

Michael Bertone grew up in Coney Island, Brooklyn, across the street from the Cyclone and the sand, but he can barely swim.  He grew up on cheesy sci-fi movies and two-hand-touch football, admiring Bruce Lee and William Blake. Michael is a track worker for the MTA, maintaining NYC’s subway system for the last 18 years.  Like many others, Michael moved north during the pandemic. He lives in Ossining with his supercalifragilisticexpialidocious wife and gem-of-a-daughter.

About his Artwork

Michael’s collages are a jumble of mixed media. Juxtaposing ripped up photos from magazines has been a pastime since he was a kid- even destroying his family photo albums to his mother’s horror. Michael incorporates humor, sensuality and silly surprises in his collages. This show contains artwork from the last 15 years (or so).
