Join the Conversation: How To Be An Antiracist

Once we lose hope, we are guaranteed to lose. But if we ignore the odds and fight to create an antiracist world, then we give humanity a chance to one day survive, a chance to live in communion a chance to be forever free. — Ibram Kendi

Join educator Kate Marshall for an evening discussion based on Ibram X. Kendi’s seminal book, How To Be An Antiracist. Using video clips, readings, journaling, and thought exercises, we will being to understand the roots of racism and our own individual reckoning. This is a deeply personal experience in a supportive environment.

We strongly recommend that participants read How To Be An Antiracist prior to the workshop. Copies are available at the public library. Alternatively, you can purchase the book for a 10% discount at Hudson Valley Books for Humanity.

Kate Marshall is a long-time educator and community activist whose own journey around anti-racism has led her to this offering. She has led this workshop numerous times for fellow educators and the general public. We are honored to bring this experience to the bookstore community.

There is no charge for this experience; however, we do ask for advance registrations for planning purposes. Any questions? Email amy@hvbooksforhumanity.com.
