Guest Read Aloud: Little Meena and the Big Swim

Join us for a very special Guest Read Aloud, with author/illustrator Lorna Gonsalves and her heartwarming book Little Meena and the Big Swim/La Pequeña Meena y el Gran Nado .

Newly released by Hardball Press, this bilingual children’s book is a tale of collective triumph over bullying and greed. The story follows a group of young fish who, with the guidance of an elder, organize to make positive change in their community. To their amazement, they find that working together gives them superpowers.

Following the reading, Lorna has a surprise activity in store for our young readers (ages 3 to 9).

Free to attend! Copies of Little Meena and the Big Swim will be available for purchase and signing.

Let us know you’re coming!

“This children’s story tells a tale of how to respond when someone bigger and stronger is mean and unfair; it tells a tale of what a fish – or a child (or even an adult) – can do. Her story is timely and timeless, as she unfolds a simple truth that too often is forgotten.” –Kurt Stand, Portside
