Join us for a reading and conversation with debut novelist, Cathy Rath, author of Ripple Effect. Cathy is on a book tour during the month of June, so we are delighted to have her visit Ossining before she returns to the West Coast.
Ripple Effect is a family drama set mainly in the turbulent 70’s. The story depicts the complexities of the relationships of 3 generations of a Jewish family living in Queens. Secrets unfold layer by layer toward an emotional finale.
Her book has received glowing praise from Christopher Castellani, author of Leading Men, and Jo Piazza, author of Charlotte Walsh Likes to Win, as well as a starred review from Publisher’s Weekly and San Francisco Book Review.
Born and raised in NYC, Cathy Rath ventured out west, completing her education at UCSB and SFSU, where she now teaches courses in public health. During the turbulent 1970s, Cathy was involved in a variety of protest movements; Ripple Effect draws upon these profound experiences.
