Author George Black in Conversation with Rene Ebersole

The Vietnam War, its devastation and aftermath

Join us for a moving exploration of the environmental and human impacts of the Vietnam War. Celebrated author George Black will read from his new book, The Long Reckoning: A Story of War, Peace, and Redemption in Vietnam. And journalist (and Ossining resident) Rene Ebersole will join George for a candid conversation before taking questions from the audience.

George Black is the author of seven previous books on subjects including India, China, Central America, and the 19th century exploration of the American West. His writing has appeared in the New Yorker, the New York Times Magazine, and many other publications. He lives in New York City with his wife, author Anne Nelson.

The Long Reckoning is the moving story of how a small group of people—including two Vietnam veterans—forced the U.S. government to take responsibility for the ongoing horrors—agent orange and unexploded munitions—inflicted on the Vietnamese.

Books will be available for purchase and signing. This event is free, but we ask you to RSVP here for planning purposes.
