Book Launch for Local Author Jeannie Zusy, The Frederick Sisters are Living the Dream

We are thrilled to host author (and Croton resident) Jeannie Zusy for a reading, conversation, and signing of her new book, The Frederick Sisters are Living the Dream. Published by Atria Books, The Frederick Sisters is a funny, romantic, and moving novel about how one woman’s life is turned upside down when she becomes caregiver to her sister with special needs.

Says Jeannie, “I wanted to write about a person who lives a quiet life, an adult with intellectual and physical disabilities, the kind of person who generally doesn’t get a lot of attention. I wanted to explore how someone like this might have a big impact on those lucky few who get to know them and might even inspire us to be better people.” This novel challenges our assumptions about family dynamics, caregiving, and individuals with special needs - all in a package that keeps us turning the page until the very end.

We will have books on hand for purchase and signing, as well as light refreshments. Guitarist and singer Marcus DaSilva will provide live music during the reception. NOTE: We are at capacity for this event and are now taking a waiting list using this link. Add your name, and we'll contact you as soon as a space opens up. Please also know that Jeannie's second launch event will take place at By the Dam Books (4 Old Post Road South, Croton-on-Hudson) on Saturday, September 24th at 7 PM.

Jeannie Zusy has written several full-length plays, screenplays, short stories, and works of fiction. Her work has been performed off-Broadway and beyond and appeared in McSweeney’s. The Frederick Sisters Are Living the Dream is her first novel.
